Petronas Carigali is gearing up for a key offshore installation campaign at its giant Kasawari gas field development offshore Sarawak, East Malaysia as the national upstream company moves towards production start-up by 2023 despite logistical challenges caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

The Kuala Lumpur-based operator is transporting Kasawari’s substructures, piles and conductors — constructed at Malaysia Marine & Heavy Engineering (MMHE) — from Johor Port to anchorage offshore Miri, Sarawak, ahead of installation work.

These structures will be shipped on board the transportation barge Holmen Atlantic and the material barge POE Giant 21.
