Four floater players are leading the race in a Petrobras tender for the charter of a floating production, storage and offloading vessel for the planned revitalisation of the mature Albacora field in Brazil’s Campos basin.

Last year, the Brazilian state giant launched a tender to contract a mid-sized FPSO for the ageing Campos basin deep-water development, with commercial bids now scheduled for 3 July.

Brazil’s Ocyan, Norway’s BW Offshore and Malaysia’s MISC already have FPSOs either operating or under construction for Petrobras, but Indian conglomerate Shapoorji would be a newcomer in the Brazilian market.
