Norway's Aker Solutions has been awarded an engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) contract from Shell for the delivery of a not permanently attended installation for the UK supermajor's Jackdaw gas field in the central North Sea.

Shell last week confirmed it had taken the final investment decision on the scheme, which it expects to come on stream in the middle of the decade at peak production rates of about 40,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day as a tie-back to its Shearwater facilities.
