Spirit Energy has reportedly run into headwinds on its planned Fogelberg gas field project off Norway due to reservoir-related issues, with a development plan now unlikely to be filed this year.
It follows an appraisal well drilled last year at the discovery in the Norwegian Sea to gain more knowledge of reservoir properties and reduce uncertainty over gas and condensate resource estimates in the Jurassic-aged Garn and Ile formations.
The operator had initially trumpeted positive results from the probe, which also entailed a successful production test, prompting it to raise its resource estimate for Fogelberg to between 40 million and 90 million barrels of oil equivalent.
