Technip Energies has been awarded the upstream production facilities’ front-end engineering and design contract for the TotalEnergies-operated Papua LNG project in Papua New Guinea.

The French contractor has long been the front runner for this prized FEED contract and on Monday Technip Energies said it would head up the work in a consortium with Australian company Clough.

The upstream production facilities cover the development of the Elk and Antelope onshore gas fields, including the well pads and a large central processing facility.
