French giant Total has re-opened the bid process for a potential $2 billion contract to build oil production facilities at the Tilenga field on the shores of Lake Albert in Uganda.
An expression-of-interest document called for responses to be submitted by 22 June for an engineering, procurement, supply, construction and commissioning contract.
Since 2017, US players Fluor and McDermott International had been the sole contenders battling to secure this prestigious order.
Last year, sources indicated that Fluor was in pole position to land the mega-deal.
