TotalEnergies is looking to sell its interest in the development of the Linnorm gas field offshore Norway.

Shell and the other partners are forging ahead with the project after announcing in August that an independent spar platform was the elected development concept.

However, co-venturer TotalEnergies wants out of the project and is looking to divest its 20% stake, several project sources have told Upstream.

“It is a bit ironic that the leading high temperature–high pressure operator in the world wants out of the most challenging HT-HP project in Norway,” one of them said.
