Authorities in Turkmenistan are extending major rehabilitation and drilling contracts for the country's large onshore brownfield asset, Gorturdepe, with Russian regional oil producer Tatneft.
According to Tatneft, the extension of its prior contract will run until 2028, with Turkmen state oil producer Turkmennebit contracting the Russian company to provide services to increase oil recovery at Acreages 1, 2 and 3 at Gorturdepe.
Under the original contract that was signed in 2010 and already extended once in 2018, Tatneft has employed its in-house tertiary recovery know-how and technology to achieve incremental oil production at Acreage 4 of the field.
