UK junior Jersey Oil & Gas (JOG) has produced a new animation outlining its vision for the redevelopment of the Greater Buchan Area in the UK North Sea.

The proposed project still needs funding but is being closely watched because JOG is hoping to power it using electricity generated from shore to reduce carbon emissions.

Chief executive Andrew Benitz said: "We are very pleased to share our vision for the potential future production of the iconic Buchan oilfield, the core part of our development plans for the wider Greater Buchan Area.

"JOG is planning for a low carbon, sustainable oil development, supporting the required energy transition phase and the UK economy for many years to come."

JOG is aiming to begin a farm-out process in the first quarter next year to help fund the development, which proposes using a new fixed platform.
