Australian junior Whitebark Energy has increased its footprint near the Wizard Lake Rex discovery in Alberta, Canada.
Whitebark has acquired an additional 640 acres in the Wizard Lake play, adding another four potential well locations in the core channel, increasing its total inventory of potential well locations at Wizard Lake to at least 24.
It also confirmed work had immediately commenced on the expansion of processing facilities at Wizard Lake following its recent A$3.8 million (US$2.6 million) capital raise.
It said Tuesday it had enlisted Onstream Engineering to carry out the facilities expansion and has secured a new separator capable of handling 5000 barrels of fluid per day and over 15 million cubic feet of gas per day for the upgrade.
It has also completed survey work for a new three-kilometre gas transportation pipeline, with the bidding process for a construction contractor already underway.
Whitebark holds 20% - 30% interest, varying by licence, in the Point Loma joint venture in partnership with Toronto-listed Point Loma Resources.
