Billions of dollars worth of engineering, procurement and construction contracts could be delayed as Qatar prepares to host football’s FIFA World Cup later this month.
Travel and mobility restrictions for visitors to Qatar are having more of an impact than anticipated on the timeline for tenders for several EPC contracts, sources from leading companies QatarEnergy, Qatargas and joint venture outfit North Oil Company (NOC) told Upstream.
Some of these EPC projects could have their bid deadlines postponed as business-related travel grinds to a halt in the emirate state.
