This year has not followed the trajectory that Chris Ashton had imagined, but the new chief executive of global energy engineering house Worley says the combination of Covid-19 and lower oil prices has given him the opportunity to accelerate the company’s transformation strategy.

Ashton took over as chief executive in February, capping a career with Worley stretching back to 1998.

“Like many people coming into a new role, I had a plan for my first 100 days which, as Covid-19 began to hit, I put on the shelf as we adapted to the new global reality,” he says.
