A joint venture led by Italy’s Eni has given work-hungry fabrication yards extra time to submit prequalification documents for a $1 billion-plus turnkey contract covering a massive new steel platform offshore Libya.
The platform and its piles will weigh at least 85,000 tonnes and will form the core of the Structures A&E project, which is expected to produce 760 million cubic feet per day of gas, 30,000 barrels per day of liquids, and pipe carbon dioxide to an onshore storage facility.
