Fitch Ratings has — for the second time this month — downgraded Russian natural resources companies including Gazprom, Lukoil and Bashneft on concerns that they might not be able to service their debts.

On Friday, Fithc downgraded the Russian heavyweights to CC mainly from B/Rating Watch Negative (RWN) — the move reflects new restrictions that may impair the companies’ ability to service debt and follows the agency’s downgrade of Russia’s sovereign ratings on 8 March.
