Imperial Energy and ExxonMobil Canada have announced that they will be putting more than 650,000 net acres of assets in the Montney and Duvernay shales on the market.

The two companies said they would be divesting the holdings of XTO Energy Canada.

Those assets include 568,000 net acres in the Montney shale of north-east British Columbia and north-west Alberta and 85,000 net acres in the Duvernay shale of central Alberta.

Current net production for the acreage in question stands at 140 million cubic feet per day of natural gas and approximately 9000 barrels per day of crude oil, condensate and natural gas liquids, according to the companies.
