Singapore offshore and marine legends Keppel and Sembcorp Marine are both in trading halts on the local stock exchange as they prepare to make announcements.
Both companies requested trading halts this morning, but provided no insight as to why.
There has for several years been support in the financial markets for the two companies to combine some or all of their offshore and marine businesses.
The Singapore government has large shareholdings in both companies.
Sembcorp Marine has reportedly recently demerged from Sembcorp Industries, while Keppel has announced it is exploring options for its O&M business as it exits the rig-building business.
