Kinder Morgan has made inroads into the gas markets of the US Northeast with its announced acquisition of Stagecoach Gas Services for US$1.23 billion.

In a statement released on 1 June, Kinder Morgan said it had agreed to buy the entirety of Stagecoach, a natural gas pipeline and storage joint venture between Consolidated Edison and Crestwood Energy Partners. The deal is scheduled to close in the third quarter of this year.
