Spanish energy group Repsol on Thursday posted a more than fourfold rise in profit for the second quarter from the same period of the previous year, boosted by high oil and gas prices.

Adjusted net income hit €2.12 billion (US$2.17 billion) in the quarter from €488 million in the same period of the previous year, partly thanks to Brent crude oil prices which were 65% higher and Henry Hub gas 157% higher on average.
