Repsol has bounced back from the pandemic by posting an adjusted net income of €488 million (US$579 million) for the second quarter.

In the same period last year, the Spanish company logged a net loss of €258 million, in contrast to the €497 million profit posted in the second quarter of 2019 before coronavirus lashed the global economy.

Repsol chief executive Josu Jon Imaz described the quarterly results as “solid across all business segments … attaining pre-pandemic levels".
