Financially stricken Malaysian company Sapura Energy has received another two winding-up petitions from creditors, while securing a temporary deferment of overdue interest payments on its 10.3 billion ringgit (US$2.4 billion) of lending.

The two winding-up petitions, this time over a debt of about 834,579 ringgit ($198,243), were served to Sapura Offshore and Sapura Geosciences by VKI Marketing and Tumpuan Megah Development.

This brings the total number of petitions served on Sapura to about 16, totalling some 53 million ringgit in amounts claimed by its vendors, according to Sapura’s current quarterly financial report.
