Singapore’s Sembcorp Marine is facing legal action and a claim for US$76 million, plus costs and interest, from a mystery vendor relating to four undisclosed contracts.

Sembmarine confirmed in late December that its wholly-owned local subsidiary Jurong Shipyard had received a notice of commencement of arbitration proceedings from a vendor over the supply of equipment for the four contracts.

Jurong Shipyard maintains that the contracts for the supply of equipment were validly suspended or terminated.
