This was supposed to be the year that final investment decisions would be made on three large offshore gas developments in Australia that would supply new gas for existing LNG export plants.

Hope has now shifted to 2021.

The three offshore projects are the Santos-operated Barossa scheme, the Shell-led Crux field and Woodside’s Scarborough development, with combined reserves of more than 15 trillion cubic feet of gas on a best estimate contingent basis.

Barossa will provide gas volumes to the Santos-operated Darwin LNG facility.
