The company recently decided to bet on the hydrocarbons potential of the Sergipe-Alagoas basin where it last year won deep-water blocks SEAL-M-351 and SEAL-M-428 in a licensing round.

The permits are located near some of the biggest light oil discoveries made by Petrobras in the area in recent years, including Moita Bonita, Muriu, Barra, Cumbe, Farfan and Poco Verde, which are estimated to hold more than 1 billion barrels of recoverable reserves.
