Songa now expects the first rig to be delivered from Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering in South Korea in the first quarter of 2015 instead of the fourth quarter of this year, which was the target a few months ago.
At the start of this year, “it became apparent that the amount of work required with mechanical completion, cable pulling and commissioning had been underestimated by the yard and that a review of the fabrication/commissioning part of the overall project was required”, the company wrote in its first-quarter report this week.
