At its factory in North Houston, GE Oil & Gas is readying for what it believes will be the next wave of advancements in blowout preventer technology through a combination of big data and brute strength.
The industrial giant is developing a new suite of equipment to monitor and control the BOP stack and has already upgraded its manufacturing capability to begin putting that equipment on units rated to shut-in pressures as high as 20,000 psi.
