Over the last decade, the requirements surrounding pipe integrity have “changed massively”, says Frederic Castrec, the managing director at Serimax Holdings, which is part of Vallourec’s Pipe Projects division. Some of those requirements come from regulatory bodies, while operators specify others.
“There is a piling of specifications and requirements,” Castrec says.
The compound effects can increase complexity and cost associated with projects.
