It has been almost a year since operator Statoil completed laying the 482-kilometre pipeline from the Nyhamna onshore facility in Norway, northwards across the Arctic Circle and all the way to the Aasta Hansteen field in the northern part of the Norwegian Sea.

Now, the pipe is waiting for the rest of the project to catch up. Onshore modifications and commissioning at Nyhamna is set to be completed by mid-2017, while Aasta Hansteen is due on stream in the second half of 2018.
