More than two years of low oil prices have dealt a severe blow to the oil and gas industry. But to hear Harry Brekelmans tell it, that is not the sole cause of the current malaise. In recent speeches, Brekelmans, project and technology director at Shell since 2014, has called for “radical change” to address overpricing and inefficiencies in the industry’s supply chain, which he says were allowed to spread in the decade or more leading up to the price crash.
