Drillmax Ice is the fourth in a series of newbuild ultra-deepwater drillships commissioned by Stena Drilling.
This time it adds the ability to continue operating in Arctic ice conditions to a vessel series that already represents just about the world's most powerful drillships.
The first of the series Stena Drillmax was the company's largest single investment at the time of order and entered service in January this year for Repsol off Brazil, having cost $640 million to build.
