Three major-league contractors are in the midst of preparations to submit bids to decommission all seven platforms and subsea hardware on ExxonMobil’s disappointing Sable gas complex off Nova Scotia, Canada.
Switzerland-headquartered Allseas, Heerema Marine Contractors of the Netherland’s and Italy-based Saipem will do battle to secure what the operator calls an engineering, preparation, removal and disposal contract.
It is unclear when the EPRD contract will be awarded, though all three bidders are contacting potential sub-contractors so they are fully prepared when formal in- vitations to tender are released, most likely next year.
