Whale of a problem for seismic

It’s the outcome that the marine seismic business feared, and on 18 July it was confirmed. The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) in a Record of Decision (ROD) ruled that new mitigation measures, the most stringent to be drafted anywhere in the world to protect marine mammals and sea turtles, will apply to proposed seismic surveys on the US Atlantic outer continental shelf (OCS).
