China’s Sinopec has started construction of a major solar and wind-to-hydrogen project, its second proect launch this month aimed at expanding the country’s hydrogen portfolio and reducing its carbon footprint.
The 2.59 billion yuan (US$360 million) project in Ordos city in Inner Mongolia will be equipped to produce 10,000 tonnes per anuum of green hydrogen and will be spearheaded by Sinopec New Star Inner Mongolia Green Hydrogen Energy.
