Prumo Logistica names new CEO

Former Petrobras executive Carlos Tadeu da Costa Fraga moves to Brazilian logistics player from GranEnergia

Brazil’s Prumo Logistica has hired a former Petrobras executive to replace departing chief executive Jose Magela Bernardes.

Carlos Tadeu da Costa Fraga, who spent 34 years at state-owned Petrobras until retiring in 2015, has been named to head up the private equity-backed player.

Magela, who is leaving after more than three years at the helm, will stick around for a transition period to push through the development of the Port of Acu complex, for which Prumo is responsible.

When he left Petrobras, Fraga moved to Brazilian independent GranEnergia, where he has been chief technology officer.

In recent years, GranEnergia teamed up with Prumo to create Dome, a support base situated in the Acu port in Rio de Janeiro state.

Acu Petroleo is a joint venture between Prumo and Germany’s Oiltanking.
