BP and its partners are making progress on the proposed Yakaar-Teranga gas project offshore Senegal.

The two discoveries hold about 20 trillion cubic feet of gas and are being lined up for a multi-phase development.

The initial phase will see gas piped to a power station onshore Senegal to generate much-needed electricity.

The next phase would aim to export the gas in liquefied form, with the potential to eventually produce about 10 million tonnes per annum.
