Canada’s largest natural gas producer Tourmaline Oil has agreed to a 15-year contract to provide gas to US LNG exporter Cheniere starting in 2023.

According to the agreement, announced on 15 July, Tourmaline has agreed to sell 140 billion British thermal units per day of natural gas to Cheneire’s export facility in Corpus Christi, Texas.

Cheniere noted that it would market the roughly 850,000 tonnes per annum of LNG associated with the gas supply agreement.

The US company will pay Tourmaline an LNG-linked price for its gas after deductions for fixed LNG shipping costs and a fixed liquefaction fee.
