Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has changed the business models of US liquefied natural gas exporters and is helping spur greater investment in the sector, according to executives of heavyweight LNG exporter Cheniere.

Chief executive Jack Fusco said during the company’s third quarter earnings call that Cheniere produced and exported 156 cargoes of LNG during the third quarter, with approximately 70% of that volume directed to Europe. During the third quarter of 2021, he noted, less than 30% of Cheniere’s volumes landed in Europe.
