China’s liquefied natural gas imports continued to surge in August as the world's largest energy consumer keeps on firing the economy with cleaner fuels.

Shanghai-based trade portal 52Hz, which tracks LNG shipments, says that China's LNG imports in the first eight months increased by 23.8% year-on-year to 51.18 million tonnes, including 6.15 million tonnes imported in August, up 2.3% from July.
