Russian state gas giant Gazprom has conducted test runs at its Portovaya liquefied natural gas plant on the Baltic Sea coast but has yet to complete the loading of its first cargo to a carrier that has been on site since late last month.
The LNG terminal — the first in Russia to be designed and built solely by Gazprom without foreign contractors — is located just several kilometres from the Portovaya compressor station that feeds gas into the Nord Stream 1 pipeline to Germany.
