Canada’s Enbridge announced it will build a pair of pipelines to service Venture Global’s Plaquemines liquefied natural gas export facility in Louisiana, in the US.

The combined cost of the projects, which could provide up to 1.6 billion cubic feet per day of natural gas, is estimated to be $400 million.

The pace of federal approval and construction of LNG export facilities in the US has increased rapidly since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in late February.

US LNG exporters are looking to help fill the void caused by decreased use of Russian gas exports in Europe.
