Italy’s Eni has successfully introduced hydrocarbons from the Coral South field offshore Mozambique into the Coral Sul floating liquefied natural gas vessel.

The Coral Sul FLNG is now on track to deliver its first LNG cargo in the second half of the year, which see Mozambique join the global ranks of LNG producers.

The vessel arrived on location early this year and completion of connecting the six subsea production wells was achieved in May.

Eni and its partners in 2017 took the final investment decision on the ultra-deepwater Coral South project and construction commenced the following September.
