Europe’s imports of liquefied natural gas reached a record high in November as colder temnperatures sparked a surge in gas demand througout the bloc.

Data from consultancy Rystad Energy showed 11.4 million tonnes of LNG imported to the UK and Europe last month, setting a new record for 2022 to date.

France, Spain and the UK accounted for over half of total imports for the month.

Demand for gas in Europe is rising fast as temperatures drop in early December.
