The US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) has released its final environmental impact statement on the proposed Commonwealth LNG export facility at Cameron, Louisiana, which should keep the proposed project on schedule.

The planned 8.5 million tonnes per annum liquefaction and export facility on the Calcasieu Ship Channel, near the mouth of the Gulf of Mexico, is scheduled to start construction in 2023. Commonwealth has said its modular construction model, with most work done offsite, should allow the project to be completed and online in 2026.
