New York-listed Golar LNG is in advanced talks with an unnamed client to build a large, newbuild floating liquefied natural gas vessel and is also in discussions to become involved in an integrated FLNG project offshore West Africa.

Golar is in the vanguard of the fledgling FLNG business, building on its success with the Hilli Episeyo vessel that has been operating for Perenco offshore Cameroon for years and a contract under which it will provide a liquefaction vessel called Gimi for BP’s Greater Tortue Ahmeyim (GTA) project offshore Senegal and Mauritania.
