New York-listed Golar LNG is in talks with prospective clients about nine potential floating liquefied natural gas opportunities in West Africa, Asia, the Mediterranean and the Americas, and hopes the first project could be sanctioned in 2022.

Currently, the company has one FLNG vessel on charter to Perenco in Cameroon and is contracted by BP to provide another vessel for its Greater Tortue Ahmeyim (GTA) project off Senegal and Mauritania, with start-up set for the fourth quarter of 2023.
