Gas supply risks will persist for Europe in 2023 when rising demand will not be matched by additions to capacity for the production and export of seaborne liquefied natural gas cargoes, the International Energy Agency (IEA) has warned.
This year, the volume of global LNG trade is set to increase 4.3% from last year’s level, the IEA said in a new report, boosted by the anticipated return to full production of Freeport LNG, the US’ second-biggest LNG export facility, after a fire which required a lengthy stoppage for repairs and maintenance.
