All indicators suggest Chevron soon decide to deploy a floating liquefied natural gas vessel on its huge Leviathan field offshore Israel, with one partner saying negotiations are under way with shipyards and a schedule is close to being finalised.
Leviathan currently produces 12 billion cubic metres each year from subsea wells linked by pipeline to a shallow water platform from where gas is piped to buyers in Israel, Jordan and Egypt.
