A second floating terminal for liquefied natural gas in Germany is due to come into operation at the end of this week.

The Deutsche Ostsee LNG terminal in Lubmin, on the northern German Baltic Sea coast, has been gearing up for start-up since December, but faced a delay of several weeks in the commissioning schedule due to local environmental permitting requirements.

Official start-up at the site is expected on Saturday 14 January, a spokesperson for the terminal operator, Deutsche Regas, told Upstream.
