US contractor McDermott International has won a key engineering, procurement and construction contract for AG&P’s liquefied natural gas import project under construction in Batangas in the Philippines.

The Philippines’ Department of Energy last month issued the notice to proceed to AG&P for the terminal — called Philippines LNG — which will have initial capacity of up to 3 million tonnes per annum.

AG&P has already completed its pre-development work for the terminal, which it said is expected to be commissioned by summer 2022.
