New York-listed Golar LNG will redeploy its Hilli Episeyo floating liquefied natural gas vessel once its charter contract offshore Cameroon comes to a close, arguing it can make better returns elsewhere.

The decision reflects the company’s bullish view on the potential of the global FLNG business, underscored by Golar saying in December that it was in talks with clients about nine such projects.

Chairman Tor Olav Troim told analysts late last month that the Hilli’s contract with French independent Perenco on the Kribi gas field will definitely end in 2026.
