A subsidiary of Russian player Novatek, Arctic LNG 2, plans to continue exploration drilling on the Salmanovskoye gas and condensate field on the Gydan Peninsula in West Siberia.

According to a company tender disclosure notice, Arctic LNG 2 has invited drilling contractors to submit before 2 December their bids for jobs to three spud exploration wells 261R, 299R and 311R between May 2020 and May 2021.

The wells are set to tap the western flank of the field along the shoreline of the Ob Bay and should test the presence of hydrocarbons to the depth of about 2700 metres.
